How will I help my child benefit from the internet without being corrupted by the filth or captured by the predators online? This is the major question this book seeks to answer.
When I was a child, we had only a television and a radio with just a few channels. Control was as simple as limiting access to the room where the devices are located. The Television was in the family living room, so it was difficult to watch inappropriate material since any family member could walk in. Besides, the level of societal sanity was high with movies containing inappropriate content for children usually scheduled for late in the night.
Today, with the proliferation of digital devices combined with the ubiquitous internet, any material can be consumed from any part of the world by anybody as long as the device has an unfiltered internet connection. As such, children are exposed to both appropriate as well as grossly inappropriate content not suitable for their age.
The level of laxity among parents with children having devices with unlimited internet access and the negative effect this is having on the children prompted the writing of this book. Moreover, the responsibility of having children is explored from the Christian's viewpoint..
My hope is that this book will stimulate the awareness and sense of responsibility in parents to guard the portals of devices assigned to their children before the predators on the other side feed on them.
