This is the story of Harry and Esther Levy as they traveled throughout the country from January 28 through May 28, 1920, transcribed from Esther's handwritten diary. Harry Levy was born on July 14, 1885 and was 35 years old, and Esther Hyman Levy was born on May 4, 1891, and was 29 years old, at the time of this trip. They were both from Rochester, New York, and married on June 14, 1918. Harry was a traveling salesman so Esther joined him on his sales trip around the country. Harry passed away suddenly on July 5, 1926, at the age of 41. Esther went on to raise their two young sons alone, who were 2 and 6 years old at the time, while developing a successful career as an insurance agent with The Travelers Insurance Co. Her oldest son was my father.
