Pit lakes are defined as areas which are the aftermath of open cast mining. Over the years, these lakes mature to become self-sustaining wetlands. But, pitlakes of India are under great threat as mafias and local goons try and fill them up and start illegal construction over it. These kinds of activities have led to the destruction of flora and fauna of the pitlakes. They have been home to hundreds of plants and animals. This book intends to record and provide a public inventory of plants by providing the readers about the information of the area and species composition from the studied region. It also aims to provide readers the Land Use Land Classification data with the GIS information of the lakes.
