When Garty Musdo finds his purse becoming slowly emptied, he determines to finish the job of finding a missing princess on behalf of the King of Kallai. He makes his final bid in a town called Scatt, where he believes the clues to her mysterious disappearance are hidden. Using his wit, money and charm, he urgently extracts information from the locals and feels confident that he is getting warmer in finding the princess.
People laugh at his determination and he remains adamant in his quest. Flirting with women is not on his agenda, but it may be on theirs. Distracted by beauty, he knows that this is his fatal flaw and must be curbed. However, when he is mesmerized by the brilliant horse woman Christalina, the gypsy flirt, and the beautiful rosebud lips and endowed Joanne, he veers from his determination and plan. Hunted by Axemanix's thugs, he must prevent capture.
As he rides furtively through the woods, Garty must avoid capture at all costs. When Mrs Bouchée takes it upon herself to help the gallant knight, Garty finds himself between hell and high water as she arranges for a mammoth dance and invites the king. Can Garty keep his wits about him, and still complete the mission? Is the princess akin to the elephant in the room or has she disappeared at the hands of the psychic fortuneteller?
