Zia Allaway

Zia Allaway is an author, editor, and journalist. She writes a regular column on gardeners for Homes & Gardens magazine, and has written a range of titles for DK, including Grow Compost, Grow Eco-Gardening, RHS Practical House Plant Book, RHS Practical Cactus & Succulent Book, Indoor Edible Garden, and RHS What Plant Where, and has also contributed to RHS Encyclopedia of Plants and Flowers.

Guy Barter

Guy Barter is the Chief Horticultural Advisor of the Royal Horticultural Society, having joined the organisation as superintendent of trials at RHS Garden Wisley in 1990.

Prior to that, he gained experience in the commercial horticultural world after graduating with a degree in horticulture.

Guy now runs the RHS Members' Advisory Service, which provides answers to an enormous range of questions and supplies evidence-based advice for thousands of gardeners.
