Nancy Furstinger has two passions: books and animals, so it's no surprise that of her impressive oeuvre of nearly 100 books, on subjects as far reaching as travel, history, music and gender, a great many are about animals! Julia Bereciartu was born in San Sebastian, Spain.

Painting and drawing has been her biggest love since she was a little girl, where she used black markers on her mum's new couch. Her latest illustrated book, Power to the Princess, retells 15 favourite fairy tales for a new generation, focussing on issues such as self-image, confidence, LGBTQ, friendship, advocacy, and disability.
