Shipwreck: Surviving the Storm is a "Reading Alone" book, perfect for supporting children who are proficient readers. These short stories for children have varied sentence lengths and rich vocabulary to develop the habit of reading widely for fun. DK Reads prove that good reads build great readers.

Marina and Jason embark on a cruise ship around the Bahamas with their Dad, but the ocean turns stormy and the ship smashes into a submerged island. Floating on a life-craft and separated from their Dad, the children begin a dramatic and heart-racing ocean adventure.

Shipwreck: Surviving the Storm is part of the DK Reads series, a three-level reading scheme of children's short stories that help kids become confident readers, featuring engaging and illustrated topics. Interactive aspects such as charts and games provide an element of fun while supporting the story and national curriculum. DK Reads is created in consultation with literacy experts and adheres to levelled reading scheme guidelines so the grammar, vocabulary and content are absolutely right.
