Joel Peters is an ordinary singer/songwriter, living an uneventful (if slightly boring) life playing gigs and making music. Everything changes suddenly when he meets a man calling himself a wizard who gifts him with a magical gnome-like creature and asks for his help saving all of creation from a mad wizard's misused spell book. In the ensuing adventures, Joel fights demons and goblins, finds love, and travels through a ruined landscape to learn why the book seems to be meant only for him, all while struggling to learn to control a wild magic he never knew he had.
