There was an ordinary phone booth in the middle of Times Square, surrounded by bright lights and visitors taking pictures. It was obscured by the surrounding modernism and looked like any other artifact from a bygone era to the uninformed eye.
However, this phone booth was going to become the entryway to an incredible journey for one unwary visitor named Ted. Ted was not like other tourists. Even in a swarm of varied sightseers, he stuck out with his Hawaiian shirt, mismatched socks, and permanently puzzled countenance.
Though his original intentions included touring and souvenir shopping, fate had other ideas for him when he arrived in New York City. It all began when Ted, in a moment of sheer curiosity, decided to investigate the antiquated phone booth that stood inconspicuously on the corner of 42nd Street.
Little did he know, this seemingly ordinary phone booth was actually a time machine, disguised as a relic of the past? Ted entered the phone booth hesitantly, but he couldn't get rid of the strange feeling that something strange was going to happen. The machine whirred to life with a reluctant push of a button, flickering lights ready to carry its unknowing passenger across the ages.
Ted was overcome by a bright flash of light before he could process what was occurring, and his surroundings began to move and change in a disorienting display of temporal turbulence. Ted was in a place that was definitely not Times Square when the mayhem eventually calmed.
