The Wardrobe of a Warrior

The Roman soldier of the First and Second Centuries was surely a sight to behold. With an impressive helmet, glistening shield, and protective shoes, the soldier's armor spoke volumes before he even had to say a word. There probably wasn't a man, woman, or child who did not tremble in fear at the power that was displayed by one of these mighty warriors.

The imprisoned apostle Paul had an up close and personal view of these soldiers. And in his letter to the Ephesian church, Paul used the imposing uniform of the Roman soldier to help illustrate the God-given armor that we, as Christian warriors, have available to us. When we step into these spiritual garments, there is not an enemy of hell that can withstand us!
