The power struggle between the Loyalists, men or women with magical abilities who supported a healthy political and social balance between those with magical skills and those without, and the Visionary Coalition had been going full swing for almost thirty years.

Raphael Valdez, a wizard with powers so awesome that the most courageous of men feared him, was the Visionary Coalition’s leader. Those who supported Valdez’s vision believed that those with enhanced magical abilities who chose to develop their talents should rule supreme over those ‘too lazy’ to bother in order for society to flourish. While the number of Visionists was relatively small in comparison to the Loyalists, those in the group were immensely powerful, handpicked by Valdez himself.
