Namibia, formally the Republic of Namibia, is a country on Africa's southwest coast that was once known as South West Africa, Afrikaans Namibi, or Suidwesafrica (until 1968). It shares borders with the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Angola to the north, Zambia to the northeast, Botswana to the east, and South Africa to the southeast and south. It ranges from desert on the coast and in the east to dry in the north. Despite the stunning scenery, it may be preferable to simply observe the desert, mountains, canyons, and savannas than than really being there.

The nation of Namibia is well-known for its diamond industry, San culture, and astounding variety of natural attractions.
