When her son, Steven, tells Susan that her attorney husband is having an affair with his new paralegal, Susan is in disbelief. After all, she and Donald have been married for almost 45 years; it just doesn’t seem possible!

Devastated at the thought of Donald having an affair with a woman five years older than herself and a bit on the frumpy side, Susan begins toying with her necklace again. And, as she does, memories and unbidden thoughts of James, a member of the most famous band of all time, begin to invade both her mind and heart.

Does the necklace hold some kind of magical power? Dare she return to the past to be with James once again and, if so, will he hate her for what she did to him, vanishing into thin air and crushing his heart to pieces? Or, would she be able to start fresh and renew their love once more?

When she tells her friends the news of her husband, they can’t believe it. Deciding she needs a vacation, Joy and Alice invite her to visit them but Susan has a better idea and that is to take them into the past with her for a different kind of holiday. They agree, but it doesn’t go according to plan when Joy ends up in a disastrous affair with one of James’s bandmates and Alice is pursued by the son of a rector who she cannot abide.

And when Susan stubbornly refuses to leave James, her friends must take matters into their own hands.
