In our youth group, many young people are pretending to follow the Christian faith while engaging in activities like drug use, drinking, partying, and sexual relationships. It seems easier to maintain a pure lifestyle when hanging out with non-Christian peers at school rather than with fellow Christians at church. At school, my friends understand and respect my beliefs, whereas Christian peers often ridicule me, questioning why I choose to live a straight and moral life. They constantly challenge my values. It begs the question: What is happening to the church? How are fathers addressing these issues at home, in society, and within the church? Is there any noticeable difference? Leonard Ravenhill once described the present era as an arena filled with various groups observing the church's actions, including skeptics, heathens, and the godless. This observation ignites a fire within me. What are we Christians truly accomplishing? Are we merely going through the motions of church without real conviction? Considering the current state of our world—ranging from issues like necrophilia, LGBTQ+ matters, fraudulent activities by individuals (referred to as "Yahoo boys"), disobedience to parents, church leaders, community figures, and government officials, as well as the inconsistent standards within the church—it becomes evident that we are facing a generation that lacks a true understanding of God's ways, as described in the book of Judges or as a perilous time as mentioned by Paul. It could also be likened to a "crazy mixed-up world." If you share the concerns of Paul and other biblical writers, you should feel a sense of unease. Questions like "How did we reach this point?" and "How can we address this situation?" should be at the forefront of our minds. In a concise, practical, and easily digestible booklet, Reverend Julius Jatau sheds light on the role of men in a world that seems lost and disconnected from God. He highlights the absence of men fulfilling their responsibilities as husbands, fathers, and professionals as a contributing factor to the moral decline we are witnessing today and offers solutions for improvement. I urge you to read this booklet and encourage every man to do the same.
