Seoul is South Korea's pulsing center, known for its technology, medieval palaces, and K-Pop scene. Seoul is a contemporary metropolis with a tradition at its center, with a population of 9.7 million people, making it twice as packed as New York.
It's a lively city that likes to stay up late. It's packed with classic eateries and soaring buildings. There are lots of locations to get away from the throng, including the city's own mountain and greatest observation point, Inwangsan.
Seoul's humid subtropical climate makes it a nice place to visit in the spring, summer, and fall, while temperatures can drop below freezing in the winter. During the warmer months, there are plenty of lush parks to cool down in, including Naksan Park, which is one of the greatest sites to watch cherry blossoms in spring.
The capital of South Korea is one of the most fascinating cities in Asia, with a thriving K-Pop scene, low-cost beauty salons, and late-night norebang (karaoke) pubs. Come for a few days and you'll find a combination of old and modern thrills, as well as a plethora of sights and locations to explore.
