Elizabeth Cady Stanton ( 1815-1902 ) was one of the United States most famous womens suffragists. The Womans Bible, published at the end of the 19th century, was written by Stanton and 26 other women, challenges the notion that women are subservient to man, as suggested by religious teachings such as those in the Bible.
