This book explores the intersection of terrorism with tourism in post-modern times. Our argument starts from the premise that through 70s decade, terrorism targeted chief police officers, politicians and celebrities, but now, this sets the pace to a new dynamic where lay-persons such as journalists, tourists and travelers of other types are hosted, tortured or killed. The main point of entry in this discussion adjoins to the fact that one of the aspects that define modern terrorism seems to be what Luke Howie called "witnessing", which means the reification between terrorism and media. This paradox may be very well expressed in the following axiom: while journalism and media devoted their resources to cover terrorism-related news for enhancing their profits, further actions should be taken by states to prevent next attack takes hit. This produces dialects of terror which leads to the end of democracy. A study of this caliber is aimed at providing policy makers solid grounds to understand what terrorism is.
