About the Authors
Lawrence Ley has a Computer Science degree from the University of Toronto and over 20 years of IT industry experience. He is passionate about learning new technologies and how they can make a positive impact. His Cardano journey started in 2021 with the Plutus Pioneers program, and he has worked on several open-source Cardano impact projects. Lawrence is a professor in the Blockchain Development Program at George Brown College in Toronto and runs the Cardano Blockchain Toronto monthly meetup with over 500 members.
His professional experience includes IT consulting in the telecommunications, banking, and retail industries. He has a proven track record of building and managing complex, integrated, highly scalable consumer and retail applications. His first experiences with cryptocurrencies involved mining Bitcoin and participating in local meetups where he met Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Anthony Di Iorio.
