Kate Coombs is an award-winning author of original fairy tales, poems, and middle grade fantasy novels. She is also the author of Chronicle's critically acclaimed Water Sings Blue.

Coombs has worked as a K-12 and college teacher, and is currently an education editor for a small publisher. She also blogs about children's books at Book Aunt.

Meilo So

Meilo So was born in Hong Kong but grew up in England. She is the illustrator of many children’s books, including Pale Male by Janet Schulman and Water Sings Blue by Kate Coombs. Meilo So lives in Scotland.
