The accounts are historical, but are highly relevant to contemporary clinical psychiatrists, and they emphasize the importance of research and of the marketing strategies of pharmaceutical companies in formulating disease entities as well as treatments for them. The unifying theme of this third text is the role of receptors, and it includes coverage of international developments, including France, Eastern Europe and Japan.
