An unabashedly erotic, utterly spellbinding new novel by the author of The Mezzanine. Two people are talking about sex on a 900-number party line. They reveal to each other their most intimate sexual fantasies and perversities, but what comes through is a sad song of distance and loneliness, of the failure to connect, of alienation and desire.
