Grand start to probably the best cantos in Sci-Fi.

The first book opens you to a detailed, colourful and believable universe as the stories of the 6 main characters slowly unfold one after another to explain why they're in the same place at the same time. Even non-scifi fans are sure to enjoy this.

A book that makes you think on religion, existence and things you take for granted as reality. Not only is it a detailed universe, unlike many authors, Dan Simmons has a knack for tying up endings that leave all questions answered. Satisfying and rare for the genre.

Having finished all 4 books in the series. It left me wondering why I hadn't read more of Dan Simmons work earlier.
