Christopher A. Snyder is Founding Dean of the Shackouls Honors College at Mississippi State University. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Oxford in England.

He is the author of The Making of Middle-Earth: A New Look Inside the World of J.R.R. Tolkien and Gatsby's Oxford: Scott, Zelda, and the Jazz Age Invasion of Britain: 1904 -1929.
