She points out how attitudes have changed during her almost 95 years of devotion, not only towards the Catholic Church, but also towards the people of outback Australia, and the mountain people and Islanders of Papua New Guinea. Her love of both the people and places fills these pages.
There is nothing Joan has left untried, in health-related fields (nursing, child care, dentistry, palliative care, building health centres), in building houses and traveling abroad. She pursued other hobbies at Bollon in South West Queensland, and discovered latent talents as a member of University of the Third Age, Sunshine Coast. Music, sculpture, calligraphy, French, giving talks about her life; all have been pursued with an energy and vigour to exhaust someone half her years.
Enjoy this walkabout with Joan.
