In this book, the author aims to show that Buddhism, in its origin, is a religion of moral stature and that the morality which Buddhism particularly emphasizes is a practical one. While most Buddhist literature contains something about the religion's ethics, little work has been done on this subject alone. This book presents an investigation of the cardinal virtues of Buddhism rather than merely an attempt to abstract its moral idea and to philosophize about it.
