The wars fought between the Arab nations and the Israel have drawn the attention of military analysts for nearly five decades. Tactical warfare as well as performance of modern weapons have been of particular interest. Since the Israel was created in 1948, the weaponry on both Israeli and Arab sides has grown in quantity and sophistication, and tactical doctrine on both sides has evolved as well. The lessons to be learned from Israel¹s 1982 invasion of Lebanon point more particularly, however, to politics, not military tactics or modern arms.
