This critically annotated bibliography has 6000 main entries - books, pamphlets, articles - in all the major West European languages, relating to the Russian Revolution and Civil War of 1917 to 1921. Several thousand further references and citations are included in the annotations. The book also has extensive cross-references and an author index. The comprehensive nature of this work, includes not only English-language items, but those in other West European languages. The broad geographical focus covers not only the political events in Russia and its capitals but also the separate revolutionary experiences of the non-Russian peoples of the former empire.
