This work discusses the economics of the ocean, its productivity, its management and its future. It documents the great variety of uses to which oceans are now put, and the production function which they now fulfil. The contributors are mainly concerned with the Pacific Ocean Basin. The book is based upon papers presented at a conference held at the National Sun Yat-Sen University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in January of 1988.
