The autobiography of the actor, director, producer, and television star Leon Askin, traces his life from his youth in Vienna to his experiences as an actor and director. Following his forced exile as a Jewish refugee in 1938, incarceration in France, and U.S. military service, he was able to continue his theater career in the U.S. and also score great success as General Burkhalter in the popular TV series Hogan's Heroes.
