The new edition includes all new maps showing abandonments and rail trails, with detailed city maps for areas of dense railroad activity; new sections on rail trails and abandoned lines that have been reinstated; many more photographs of rail trails and rail artifacts on abandoned lines; and many directory entries updated with new information and rewritten for better clarity.
