This collection of papers arising from a conference held in Queensland in 1991 reviews the major problems facing the conservation of the flora and fauna of Australia and Oceania, and suggests ways in which conservation research can be made more efficient. Topics discussed include habitat fragmentation, land degradation and restoration, targeting species for research, and conserving marine mammals and reptiles.
