Rian Hughes is an award-winning graphic designer, illustrator, comic artist, and typographer.

In his studio, Device, he has produced watches for Swatch, Hawaiian shirts, logos for comic brands, and an iconoclastic revamp of British comic hero Dan Dare.

His previous books include Lifestyle Illustration of the 50s, Lifestyle Illustration of the 60s, and Custom Lettering of the 60s & 70s.
