Songs written for Disney productions since the 1930s to the present day have become a potent part of American popular culture. Since most Americans first discovered these songs in their youth, the songs have a special place in one's consciousness. Songwriters and original singers are identified, as well as the source of the song and other venues in which it has been used over the years. This volume also contains a glossary of song terms, a songwriter's directory, a guide to recordings and DVDs of Disney productions, and a listing of Academy Award nominees and winners.

I purchased this book for a big Disney fan and could not be happier with it!

It has 7 main chapters: A brief history of Disney music, Songs, Alternate song titles, Songwriters Directory, Guide to recording, videos and dvds, Academy awards for Disney songs and scores and Glossary of song terms.

The song chapter is 260 pages long and each song gets a paragraph. There are so many songs that I had forgotten about from my childhood and Disney fans will absolutely love it.

There are no pictures, so its far more suitable to young adults and adults rather than kids.

Highly recommend it as a gift for the Disney fan in your life or as a treat for yourself.
