In Venice, tradition is still very much a part of the daily life and work of many craftsmen who, often in tiny workshops hidden down narrow lanes, produce genuine masterpieces with their creativity, passion and skills passed down from father to son. The author's intention was not only to illustrate an aspect of the city that is as little known as it is precious, but also to create a visual memory for the new generations growing up in a world of sophisticated technology and who know nothing of the creative possibilities of expert hands.
