The girls come upon a clearly in a big wood and see two roads; both are said to lead to one's Heart's Desire." One road, straight and wide, the other narrow, overgrown, and "spooky." Jezze insists on taking the "easy path" while Jennifer is drawn to the "hard." In addition, there are ten other short stories. All the stories are illustrative, using Biblical themes in a parabolic form.
